David's Weight Loss Story!
Everyone is always asking me why I started changing my lifestyle, dieting and putting all my focus into that. On July 17th, 2013 I got a call from my doctor saying she wanted to see me ASAP because my A1C levels were high. I went in and she said since I was 280 pounds, I was a high diabetic risk and my cholesterol levels were high and I also had an enlarged liver. I had let myself go and I was drinking alcohol like water, eating late at night with a lot of diet sodas, juices, candy and other junk food. I ended up getting a few medications from my doctor and started on them.
I told myself, "Screw this, it's over!" It was nothing against the people and friends I love or hang out with but I needed to get this under control right away because I had heard about way too many diabetic horror stories and I did not want be a statistic or be on different medications for my whole life. So I started with my diet and cut out all diet soda and stopped drinking my calories and I also gave up drinking alcohol for 3 months.
For exercise, I started riding my bike outside for a few miles and walking on the treadmill in my basement for 20 minutes. It was nothing major for a beginner but after a few weeks I started losing and the weight started coming off. I was like, "OMG this is awesome!" All of the compliments felt great so I drove harder and harder. I do have my slip ups with alcohol but I try to keep it to once every 2 weeks but for the most part I'm doing pretty well with it since I'm not perfect.

I'm making all these changes to feel better about myself inside and out. Today marks my 1 year anniversary with a total weight loss of 70 pounds and I'm down to 210 pounds! My diabetes is reversed for the most part and my cholesterol is normal and my liver levels are improving. I'm happy and disappointed at the same time. I think I could've done a lot better since I'm not on a special diet or pills or doing any surgeries.
My advice to others is just get off your ass and work it out! I know it doesn't happen overnight. I have 35 pounds more to go until I reach my goal. This year is all about staying focused and tweaking my diet along with meal prepping, proper portion control and switching up my exercise routine as the walls and plateaus keep coming. It's a little frustrating but I'm not stopping!
I love all my friends and family and I hope they all understand and support me during this time. I can't really go out since I'm not strong enough to say no to alcohol yet. I just can't have a few drinks and call it a night because it's all or nothing with me. That's why at this time in my life I need to keep that to a minimum to reach my goals. The struggle of weight loss blogs , burning fat and building muscle mass is a challenge and it's probably one of the hardest things along with trying to stay as sober as much as possible through all the mind games our brain plays on us.
I want everyone to know that if I can do it, you can do it too as long as you want it bad enough and sacrifice some things to get it! Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I hope it can help and inspire others who have the same struggles as I do and we can work on it together.

weight loss blogs When did you become unhappy with your weight?

weight loss blogs I was always active growing up and fairly average-sized. I struggled with my weight a little bit here and there through the years, but I played sports since I was young and was a 3-sport athlete in high school so I never got to be "overweight". Problem was, I was able to eat more then because I exercised so much. So my eating habits weren't great and it stayed that way for years. And I never loved exercising; I just did it in high school because I had to when we had sports practices, etc. I graduated high school at about 155 pounds. I then had the classic "go to college and gain weight" syndrome. Except instead of gaining the "freshman 15", I ended up gaining about 50 pounds over my 4 years in college. Once I wasn't forced to exercise at sports practices, I simply didn't. The late night snacking, big portions, poor nutrition and a drastic reduction in exercise caught up with me. Then after graduating college and moving out of state where I didn't know anybody, food was my comfort. That and a desk job contributed to my gaining 35 more pounds in the next 2 years. I tipped the scales at 240 pounds. As the weight continued to increase throughout college and beyond, I had always felt unhappy but never did anything about it.

weight loss success stories What made you decide to lose weight?

I reached the breaking point after 2 things happened: 1) I saw a picture of myself and my fiancé at a friend's wedding. I couldn't believe that was me. I had gotten so used to not taking pictures or not looking at pictures of myself, that I wasn't aware of how big I had become. 2) I got to the point where I dreaded figuring out what to wear. No matter if it was for work each morning or for a special event: the first thing my mind went to was, "What am I going to wear?" and not in a good way; that was a horrible feeling. I knew I needed to lose weight not only to feel better about myself, but to feel healthier.

weight loss blogs What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?

I really just started keeping track of what I was eating and eventually incorporated exercise. I began tracking my calories, fat and other nutrients with the help of Weight Watchers materials. The big thing for me was making it a lifestyle change. And the keys to doing this were really just portion control and developing a high awareness to the food I eat.

weight loss blogs What was most challenging about losing weight?

weight loss success storiesGoing to the gym doesn't work that well for me. I still don't love exercise, so I had to find other activities that I could tolerate and that I could be motivated to do. Otherwise I wouldn't do it. What worked for me was to use an at-home Nordic Track (the old-school, clunky wooden brown one). But despite its appearance, it worked! All that it needed to do was get my heart rate up so I could get a good cardio workout. And the other key is that I can watch whatever I want on TV while I do it. I found that reality shows really pass the time well, and I end up not even feeling like I'm working out. The show that also really inspires me is The Biggest Loser. I'll watch that while I workout and it really motivates me to keep going. The other thing was that I wanted to tone up, but not really bulk up. So I started to use resistance bands (instead of weights). This helped tone up my muscles and gain muscle mass without looking like a bodybuilder.

weight loss blogs How long did it take you to start to see results?

After losing those first 25 pounds in 3 months, I started incorporating exercise about 4-5 times per week. From there, I would lose 2-4 pounds per week. Some weeks I'd plateau, but I kept going and my overall weight kept decreasing. Another key thing, other than straight-up diet and exercise, was my mind set. I had been wanting to lose the weight for years, but there's a difference between wanting to lose weight but not making the effort, and wanting to lose weight and really committing to it. Something just clicked for me. You can WANT to lose the weight all you want, but I think something really has to click before you can actually commit to it and DO something about it.

weight loss blogs How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?

It took about 12 months. I wanted to lose weight by doing it the right way. I didn't want to quickly lose a drastic amount of weight just to gain it all back again. So I began by counting points, eating smaller portions, and cutting out soda, and I lost 25 pounds in about 3 months.

weight loss blogs How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do
you do it?
weight loss blogs

About 1 year. I just think of pictures from before and that motivates me. Also knowing that I'd like to start a family and be a healthy mom someday.

weight loss blogs How has your life changed now that you've lost weight?

It's so much easier doing everyday things. I don't have to stress about what I'm going to wear and how uncomfortable I feel in everything. I also enjoy life so much more.

Amanda's Weight Loss Blogs Tips!

weight loss blogs Weight loss tip #1:

Don't deprive yourself of what you love or you'll binge once your willpower is gone. Instead, find a low calorie or low fat option that will still satisfy that craving. Have a small portion of it and you're set, no damage done. I love the 100 calorie packs or the Weight Watchers chocolates. They satisfy your craving but you don't overindulge.

weight loss blogs Weight loss tip #2:

weight loss success storiesWhen I started out, I felt hungry all the time. The trick for me was to drink a lot of water between meals. It not only filled me up but it's a healthy, no calorie way to go. I also cut out soda completely. It may taste good but it's just empty calories. Instead, try the Crystal Light singles pack. It still has flavor but without the high calories.

weight loss blogs Weight loss tip #3:

Going out to eat is a treat for us and I didn't want that to end just because I was on a diet. A trick I found that worked was to just eat half of whatever I ordered. Take the rest home. It'll be a good treat for the next day.

weight loss blogs Weight loss tip #4:

Listen to your body when you eat. Your stomach doesn't tell your brain that you're full for something like 20 minutes. So, mindlessly eating in front of the TV or without conscious thought can get you into trouble. Before you know it, that whole bag of chips is gone. Only eat until you're comfortably full and that doesn't necessarily mean until the plate is empty.

weight loss blogs Weight loss tip #5:

Don't get discouraged. Everyone has a bad day. Just don't let those bad days string together and turn into bad weeks or bad months.

weight loss blogs Cardiovascular:

35 minutes on an old school Nordic Track, 3-4 times per week. This works for me because I don't like going to a gym very much. I can do this in the comfort of my own home, watch the shows that keep me focused and motivated to finish my workout. Sometimes I'll add 400-450 jump rope repetitions also.

Growing up on a hog farm, Audrey had a very active life. When she and her siblings weren’t doing chores, they were playing outside, riding bikes, or sledding during the winter. As a young girl, Weight Loss Blogswas the last thing she thought about, but as she entered the fourth grade, things began to change. All of a sudden, she noticed that there were girls skinnier than her; in fact, to this day, she still remembers their names. Nonetheless, she began obsessing over food, setting the stage for a problem that would follow her for many years to come.

Weight Loss Blogs N°16 | Audrey Nichelson, Female, Age 43

In high school, Audrey was always self-conscious about the way she looked. Her low self-esteem kept her from partaking in many activities that most people enjoyed. During this time, she worked at a drugstore and had unlimited access to all the new diet pills and crash diet programs that came through her store. Not surprisingly, these quick fixes never worked, and the battle with her Weight Loss Blogs continued. After getting married at age 20, she started gaining more Weight Loss Blogs, and although she’d diet and exercise from time to time, she was never able to take off all the Weight Loss Blogs that she had put on.
Years later, Audrey suddenly began losing Weight Loss Blogs without even trying. She was eating whatever she wanted, and the Weight Loss Blogs just kept falling off. For a while, she thought the “metabolism fairy” had paid her a visit, but as her health deteriorated, it became clear that there was a problem. Shortly thereafter, she was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder known as Graves’ Disease. Thankfully, her thyroid didn’t need to be removed, and her condition went into remission. She had been eating whatever she wanted; now that she was on medication, she needed to start getting healthier—but it wasn’t easy.
Being diagnosed with Graves’ Disease made Audrey seriously reevaluate her lifestyle, but it wasn’t until a trip to the Caicos Islands that she had a real turning point. Upon arriving at the resort, Audrey and her husband, Scott, were anxious to get into the water; so they grabbed their swimsuits. The only problem was that Audrey’s swimsuit didn’t fit anymore. She was mortified. They went to the gift store to find a new one, but nothing there seemed to be in her size. While trying on some board shorts in the dressing room, Audrey burst into tears. She was supposed to be having fun on a tropical island, but instead she was sobbing in a dressing room because her clothes didn’t fit.
She knew right then and there that something had to change.
After returning home, Audrey was introduced to Slim in 6. She went to the Beachbody Web site and decided to order Power 90. The program arrived, and she liked it but didn’t fully commit herself to the program until last year. In 2007, she saw vacation pictures of herself that were less than flattering. Annoyed because she thought she had been doing well with dieting and exercise, she realized that she wasn’t making the sort of progress she wanted.
Audrey decided to take advantage of the coaching features offered by Beachbody and began talking to Beachbody Coach Doug Couch. They tweaked her program, and she kept working at it. The tweaks they made worked, and her body began transforming. Weight Loss Blogst kept falling off, and muscles kept appearing out of nowhere. To date, she’s lost 33 pounds and 12 percent body fat. On a recent trip to Jamaica, Audrey wore a bikini the whole time and even went scuba diving—something she would never have done prior to her transformation. She feels better than she ever has and looks forward to new bikinis and beaches in the future.

Weight Loss Blogs N°15 | Liz D. - A MyFoodDiary Success Story

Name: Liz D.
Age: 32
Total lost: 59 lbs.

weight loss blogs : What was the turning point that motivated your lifestyle change?

Recently married, I was happily in love, starting a successful career and surrounded by great friends and family. Never very insecure or unhappy, it was simply a photograph of myself from a recent wedding that sparked me to action. The very next day, I did a Google search for online food diaries and never looked back weight loss blogs.
 weight loss blogs
weight loss blogs : How weightlossblogsstorie.blogspot.com help in your Weight Loss Blogs journey?
I like the precision of My Food Diary: calories in vs. calories out. Nothing is off limits – if I know that I'm going out to dinner, I eat lighter during the day or sneak in a workout. Additionally, when I first signed up I quickly joined a group of women for moral support. It has been over 5 years and we still conduct weekly weigh in's every Friday! We range in age from 30 to 60 and are located all over the US and Canada. Although I've only met a handful of them in real life, I consider these women to be family.

weight loss blogs : Describe your new, healthy lifestyle?

Growing up as the daughter of a doctor, we always ate healthfully with an emphasis on unprocessed foods, locally grown produce, lean proteins, etc. The difference now is portion control and an increased activity level. Confession: before signing up for My Food Diary, I never exercised regularly in my life. Initially, I joined a small women-only fitness center, which taught me the importance of working out three times a week for at least 30 minutes. Once exercise became a habit, I joined a larger gym and quickly became addicted to group classes weight loss blogs.

weight loss blogs : What has been your biggest challenge along the way, and how have you overcome it?

Life is the biggest challenge. Life is full of holidays, showers, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and other social celebrations. If you treat these events as "days off," you will never reach your Weight Loss Blogs goals. Now, I pick my splurges wisely and only eat food that I think is worth the calories. Personally, I don’t have a sweet tooth so I often pass on birthday cake or dessert at functions. For others, it might be alcohol or bread. I haven't learned to give those up yet.

weight loss blogs : What is one new healthy habit you didn't expect to like, but now love?

weight loss blogs EXERCISE! Growing up, my family was not very active. We aren't full of athletes and we don't watch sporting events. As an overweight child and teenager, the few times I would join a friend at the gym or go on a big hike would leave me out of breath and gasping for air. Now, I work out 5 days a week and try to sneak in a walk on my off days! The key is doing what you love. For me, that means group exercise such as kickboxing, yoga or Zumba. One time, I tried training for a 5K but was so bored on the treadmill that I burnt out and quit. By mixing up my routine with different classes every day, I never get bored. That's what works for me.

weight loss blogs : What has been the greatest reward of your Weight Loss Blogs success?

Clothes shopping. I know. I know. I should say something like my health or teaching my child how to lead a healthy lifestyle. But what feels the best? Trying on clothes!! As a child, I could never go to the mall with friends because the stores only carried up to size 16. I would have to pretend to be looking around when deep down I knew that I wouldn't be able to try anything on or buy anything. In high school, my cousin took me back-to-school shopping and I had to sneak into the other section of the store to pick out men’s size 42 jeans. So, yeah, clothes shopping has been the biggest reward.

weight loss blogs : What’s next? Any upcoming plans that were influenced by your weight loss?

In 2010, I started The Lemon Bowl weight loss blogs, a food blog focused on delicious, seasonal recipes that just so happen to be healthy. In our house, we rarely eat the same dinner twice because I love creating new recipes and experimenting with flavors from around the world. I believe the key to healthy eating is variety. After all, it doesn't matter how healthy the food is if it doesn't taste fantastic! To help others trying to live a healthy lifestyle, all of my recipes include complete nutritional information.

weight loss blogs : What is your best advice for others?

Experiment in the kitchen! On the weekends, take a few minutes to search recipes online, browse through a cookbook or explore a local farm stand for inspiration. By eating seasonal ingredients at their peak, very little needs to be done for them to taste delicious. Also, take 10 minutes to plan your week ahead. Cook extra at dinner and take leftovers to work or pop them in the freezer. By taking the time to weight loss blogs plan, you won’t be tempted by weight loss blogs fast food or end up at the grocery store starving and throwing everything in your cart.
Even if you don’t feel like moving, move. You will never, ever regret exercising. I've never once regretted taking the time to weight loss blogs exercise. (Just last week I sprained my foot in kickboxing and I still don't regret going!)
Surround yourself with cheerleaders who are supportive of your Weight Loss Blogs journey. You will always encounter people who knock down your efforts or try to knock you off course. Spend your time with people who will help you reach your weight loss blogs goals.
